Scope is important so we can compare our project with your project, so we can learn how everything relates.
The embodied carbon of non-mandatory elements is reported separetely to that of mandatory elements. This helps fair comparisons to be made and helps ensure consistency between the outputs of the mandatory part of assessments.
MBIE has provided the attached table that outlines the split between mandatory and voluntary building elements to be included in embodied carbon assessments.
