This year, Ewan has been awarded one of the prestigious President's Awards from the NZIA for his dedicated service to the industry.

By integrating tikanga and fostering partnerships with indigenous communities, Ewan’s work honours cultural heritage while addressing contemporary challenges. His care and craft enrich lives and landscapes, earning him deep respect among clients, peers and admirers near and far."
Ewan as part of his NZIA presidents award advocated for the institute and members to uplift and use the gift from Matua Harre Williams of the 5 R’s that he gifted to the NZIA and the NZIA launched in 2022.
