Victoria University’s executive offices have had a major overhaul in moving from what has been the traditional program of enclosed, private offices to a more contemporary, open plan office. Mirroring workplace design of top commercial executives around the world as well as and other faculties within Victoria University, the Vice Chancellor and Provosts have adopted non-hierarchical, open and connected workspaces.

Located in the heritage Hunter Building at Victoria University, Tennent Brown took some of the materiality and tones of the classical space to create a modern office environment that still nods to the authority and refinement of the original space. Sections of exposed brickwork have been retained while a structural column in the open plan space has been sheathed in Oamaru sandstone with brass plate top and bottom and windows with bronze anodized joinery to continue a fresh yet classic ambience.
