The Living Pā

The Living Pā is an ambitious new project for Victoria University of Wellington to be built beside the existing Te Herenga Waka Marae. This will be the University's first LBC building with a focus on wellbeing and sustainability to match the University's Sustainable growth initiative.

As designed; -170 tonnes of embodied carbon over modules A1-A5 cradle to practical completion (A 110% reduction from calculated business as usual BAU)
Which equates to -55.4KgCO2e/ m2

As designed; 1,293 tonnes of embodied carbon over modules A-D cradle to cradle (A 43% reduction from calculated business as usual BAU)

Which equates to 421.4KgCO2e/ m2

RIBA 2030 embodied target <500KgCO2e/ m2
